The field, the harvests and the people who made it — collected here as we go.
Coming Soon
We are gathering our story
Photos of the field, the harvests and the people who made it will live here. This page is where Sussex Lavender's history takes shape — season by season, harvest by harvest.
Check back soon, or join the mailing list and we will let you know when it is ready.
The Timeline
From a dream to a field in bloom
In spring 2020 the first seeds went into the chalk hills of the South Downs. Since then every harvest has brought new people, new connections and a growing sense of what this place can become. The full timeline will be documented here.
Spring 2020
First planting. A vision for a regenerative community lavender field takes root in the South Downs.
First harvest
The first cut lavender is shared with care homes, hospices and wellbeing centres for therapeutic bundling sessions.
Community grows
Volunteers, organisations and individuals join the field. Donation Days and fundraising events begin.
Now — transitioning to CIC
Sussex Lavender is working toward becoming a Community Interest Company, locking the mission into the structure of the business for good.
