Our Journey
For People, Not Profit
Every penny, every purchase, every hour of time given here goes straight back into the work - feeding our mission to bring the healing experience of a lavender field into the lives of people in our community, walking with them on their path from "harm to Harmony". All that you give or contribute ensures more joy, love, and a true sense of value goes into the hands of more people living through challenges. You are not supporting a business - you are sustaining something that changes lives.
We rely solely on what our supporters buy, donate and sponsor, and on the grants we secure - there is no other source of income. Right now, the sales we make go towards covering our costs, so that we can donate lavender and provide wellbeing experiences to those who need them most. Sussex Lavender is a living project working towards becoming a Community Interest Company - a legal structure that would lock our mission permanently into the business itself, so everything we grow, sell, donate and earn is committed to the community, always.
Our running costs are low, thanks to free use of the field, low-maintenance growing, and an experienced core group of volunteers. We do not seek to make a profit - we seek to be sustainable and regenerative, so that this mission can continue into the lives of generations to come, and the land itself can be protected: a living example of ecological enhancement through natural, hand tending.

We keep our overheads low, so every donation goes a long way - straight into growing, harvesting and putting fresh lavender into the hands of people facing real challenges. Our ticketed wellbeing days, held each quarter, raise funds too, all of it carrying the mission forward as we become a Community Interest Company.

We are fundraising to secure the land for long-term community use, to build the infrastructure needed for small group wellbeing events at the field, and to help us transition to CIC status.
The more our supporters give, the more hands receive, the more lives that are changed.

The lavender you receive without cost represents years of physical labour, investment, and hard-won experience. Tending the field is demanding work - and bringing this vision to where it is now has taken real toil. What we ask in return is simple: share your story, your photos, your experience. That exchange is the foundation of everything we are building.

Other Ways to Give
Give lavender - not just money
Giving does not have to mean a financial donation. You can purchase a lavender crafting kit for a specific group, community or event - a care home, a school, a hospice, a community gathering - and we will arrange for it to reach them.
You can also simply share the idea. If you know someone, a group or an organisation that would benefit from working with lavender - pass this on. The most powerful thing any of us can do is introduce two things that belong together.
Join the core team
Beyond giving, we are building a committed core team to carry this mission forward. The field is not open to the public, and we are not looking for one-off helpers - but if you can give regular time and skill to the long-term vision, including a paid Land Steward role and work experience placements, we would love to hear from you.
